Under Counter Water Filters

An under-counter water filter is almost a must these days. If you do a lot of cooking or are the type of homeowner who likes to drink out of the spout, it might be a great idea to install one of these under-counter water filter systems in your kitchen.

A filter can not only protect you from harmful bacteria and impurities, but it can also improve the taste of your water, whether it’s well water or city water. Water filters have come a long way in terms of ease of installation and filter functionality.

Depending on the quality of your water and plumbing lines, you should always replace filter cartridges according to the manufacturer’s instructions along with some common sense. One way to know that you need to change your filter is if the water pressure starts to drop at your kitchen faucet. Another is dirty or smelly water coming from your filtered water faucet.

Each filter has a micron rating which determines the size of the particles that will be trapped by the filter, the lower the rating the smaller the particle trapped. There could be a downside to this and that is if there is poor supply water pressure and a small micron rated filter is used, this could result in an unacceptable pressure drop leading to less than optimal pressure at your tap. plumbing, that’s why every filtration system should be designed by a professional.

I would suggest doing some research on the various under counter water filters that are available, for more information on clean drinking water, here is a list of the different filter manufacturers I have used.
