Alternative Insecticide-Pesticide!

Many people suffer from buying too many expensive insecticides to keep insects out of their crops. So now, I’m going to help you cut down on buying expensive brand name insecticides/pesticides. We are going to make a homemade insecticide/pesticide using herbal plants like makabuhay (tinospora rumphii boerl) and kakawate (gliricidia sepium).

MAKABUHAY (Tinospora rumpii Boerl) compounds with febrifuge, vulnerary, tonic, antimalarial, parasiticide and insecticide properties. Creeper that reaches from 4 to 10 meters. Stems fleshy, about 1 cm in diameter, with scattered knobs. Thin, ovate leaves, 6-12 cm long and 7-12 cm broad, with pointed apex and heart-shaped base, smooth and shiny. Petiole up to 6 cm long. Clusters solitary or in pairs that arise from the axils of the leaves, light green in color and short pedicels. Fruit 8 mm long, in long clusters. It is propagated by stem cuttings or seeds. Support needed to climb.

• Plant contains a bitter principle, columbine (2.22%); traces of an alkaloid; and a glycoside. It also contains amorphous bitter principle, picroretin and traces of berberine.

• A study showed that the bitter extract of the stem does not contain alkaloids.

• The study yielded two new diterpenes together with the known compounds tinotufolin D and vitexilactone.

KAKAWATE (Gliricidia Sepium) it is common in the Tagalog areas of the southern Philippines, losing leaves around December and flowering in February and March. In some areas, the bloom of its pink flowers is so profuse that it deserves a comparison with cherry blossoms.

Constituents and properties

Phytochemical studies have shown:

• Formosin (an isoflavan, presumably antitumor), formononetin (isoflavan), gliricidin-6a, gliricidol-9A, medicarpin (pterocarpan, presumed antifungal), 7,4′-dihydroxy-3′-methoxyisoflavin, 2’O-methylsepiol , tannin and a trihydroxyflavone.

• Tannins are considered potentially antidiarrheal, antidysenteric, antimutagenic, antioxidant, bactericidal, hepatoprotective, pesticide and viricidal.

• Stigmastanol glycoside and 3′,4′-dihydroxy-trans-cinnamic acid octacosyl ester 2 were isolated from the heartwood together with three other known constituents.

Now I am going to show the procedures to make our HOMEMADE INSECTICIDE/PESTICIDE.

Materials:

  • 50 leaves of MAKABUHAY
  • 100 sheets of KAKAWATE
  • 10 ml of dishwashing liquid
  • 10ml of Oil
  • 20 pieces of SILING LABUYO (Capsicum frutescens) – with the properties of, Stimulant, digestive, rubefacient, stomachic, sialagogue, alterative, antispasmodic, febrifuge, purifying.
  • containers
  • Knife
  • Sieve/Screen
  • cutting board
  • kettle

Process:

  1. Cut makabuhay, kakawate and siling labuyo into small pieces.
  2. Put it in the kettle with water and then boil it.
  3. A boiled one sieves it to obtain the extract and then puts it in a container.
  4. Add the other ingredients.
  5. Remove.
  6. Put on a spray then try it now.
