Without tolerance towards others, there is no true freedom!: 5 examples

How can we Americans consider this nation to be the land of the free, unless / until everyone agrees to proceed, consistently, with the greatest possible tolerance, toward each other? Those constitutional guarantees and freedoms that we consider make us different from most of the rest of the world, if they are not absolute and unconditional, rather than merely selective and convenient! Shouldn’t we respect all the rights of others, rather than just being guided by our personal / political agenda and / or our own interest? However, it appears that, over the past few years, we have witnessed a level of vitriol, prejudice, and polarization, like never before, in recent memory. With that in mind, this article will try, briefly, to examine, review, consider and discuss, 5 examples, where this is necessary, today, more than ever!

1. Vaccines versus anti – vaxers: Unfortunately, we have seen the spread of conspiracy theories and blind – obedience, based on the individual’s perceived personal beliefs, preferences, and interests. We have witnessed a small percentage of people who consider themselves anti – vaxers, in terms of vaccinations, for whatever reason. However, after a year of this horrible pandemic, where this nation has witnessed a disproportionate amount of suffering (with about 4.5% of the world’s population, the United States has experienced approximately 25% of the cases and 20% of cases). deaths). With over 2 million cases and 420,000 deaths in the US, wouldn’t that make sense? People would appreciate receiving a vaccine, which appears to reduce the risk, especially if 70% of the public receive the vaccine. vaccination (achieve, what does it refer to, herd immunity)? As if opposition to suggestions from public health experts wasn’t enough, we recently saw a group, which opposes vaccines, blocks trafficking, and disrupts the ability of those seeking injections.

two. Politics: right / left / middle / partisan, etc. How can we consider ourselves, as America, if / when there seems to be too much – too little attempt to unify, and too much effort, focused, polarized? We suffer from the politics of labels, where people cling to their affiliations, be it to the right, to the left, to the middle, etc. What we need is a true gathering of minds, for the greater good, rather than an emphasis on the politics of division and the pitting of people against each other! Everyone’s rights must be protected, rather than just a few selective considerations.

3. Right to choose, versus anti-abortion: Roe vs. Wade It has been considered the law – of – the – land, for decades, however, some, still, seek to impose their opposition to abortion (alleging their religious reasons), triumphs, the right of women to choose! Wouldn’t we be better off if we allowed individuals to decide this for themselves?

Four. Equality / all, versus selective rights: Too many people demand the fulfillment of those rights, they agree and support, while they oppose others, they do not! You should not ask for your 2nd Amendment rights, while only selectively obeying 1st Amendment rights!

5. Speak – to, versus, speak – in: We need public and elected officials, who seek to unify, rather than divide, and try to speak to all of us, using common sense, rather than just trying to communicate, motivate and inspire their main supporters, and use vitriol, in change!

Our American system, based on freedoms, rights and tolerance, is at risk, unless / until we demand better, consistently and realize that it is okay to protest, but not threaten, etc. Are you ready to demand a better America?
