How to bake a cake using the rubbing method

Most people say that making cakes is very challenging, I tend to disagree. This is because cake is one of the easiest desserts or snacks to make as long as one has the recipes and ingredients with them. Cake is one of those snacks that people enjoy eating and sharing all the time. They are presented as desserts, snacks or even as an accompaniment during breakfast or tea time. On some occasion, the cake happens to be a very important part, for example, birthdays, weddings, congratulatory parties and many other events.

The cakes are made in various flavors, shapes, and sizes, and are categorized based on the ingredients used. Baking is the process of making cakes, bread, and pastries using the dry heat of the oven. Most of the people have fun while making and preparing cakes for their families, they tend to enjoy doing it at home. Anyone can bake at home as long as they have the correct procedure for preparing and cooking it. The rubbing method involves the process in which fat is rubbed into flour until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. For our confectionery we need certain ingredients and steps to follow, among them are:

Ingredients needed for baking

a) 200 grams of common flour

b) 2- 2 ½ level teaspoons of baking powder

c) 100 grams of granulated sugar

d) 100 grams of fat

e) ¼ level teaspoon of salt

d) 1 egg

g) 5 tablespoons of milk

h) Flavoring

• Prepare the baking pan, greasing it with fat and flouring it, shaking off all the excess flour, and if you are using the paper covers, do not grease the pan.

• Turn on the oven up to 180 degrees.

• Sift all the dry ingredients (flour and yeast)

• Rub the fat with your fingertips and while lifting the mixture up and down to aerate the mixture and capture as much air as possible.

• Add sugar and mix well.

• Beat the egg and mix it with a little milk,

• Create a well in the mixture, pour in the egg and milk solution and mix until smooth. Add milk to achieve the smooth effect.

• Transfer the mixture to the prepared mold and bake until it rises well, brown and cook.

• Remove from heat when cooked and let cool for a minimum of 1 hour.
