Having a dog in a city can be very difficult for both the owner and the dog. Still, there are many people who simply love city life and dogs too much. These people end up having dogs throughout their lives in the city and sometimes even have more than one.
I am also a huge fan of dogs, which can be a challenge when living in a city apartment. Some dogs were just meant to be outside, running around in yards and such. In addition to this, it is difficult to keep a large dog in an apartment with few rooms. In addition to the mess the dog can cause, you will feel like a larger dog is always on top of you and sometimes gets in your way. While this is true for most dogs, there are some medium-sized dogs that do well in urban settings.
One dog that I am a fan of for city life is the Cocker Spaniel. He’s bigger than a lapdog, playful, and I’ve seen a few that seem to be perfectly happy in town with him. They do need to be walked quite frequently, but they are a fun and playful dog that makes the time spent well worth it.
Another dog that does well in cities is the Pug. Reminiscent of a bulldog, the pug is a great indoor dog. Pugs generally prefer indoors to outdoors, and will do just fine in a city apartment. If you can put up with his snorts, this may be a great dog for you.
