Visiting Athens
Pay homage to the most impressive legacy of Athens: the Acropolis, haggled over with
merchants in the old Turkish bazaar around Monastiraki square and explored the 19th century Plaka neighborhood … all before noon. Now you are ready to drink like Dionysus.
Where to crash
Athens’ first “trendy hotel”, the Semiramis, is located in Kifissia, a wealthy suburb about 10 miles north of the city center.
Designed by fashion designer Karim Rashid, the hotel has features like a bright pink cube at the entrance, a rotating collection of contemporary art in the rooms, and digital
programmed door signs.
Fri de Nuit
What is a blatant no-see nightlife?
Bars are the staple of Greek nightlife, with new establishments opening every week. In summer, many of the most popular venues, especially dance clubs, move to temporary venues along the coast (check with your hotel concierge for the seasonal whereabouts of the clubs).
Frequented by those under 30, these clubs are often huge, lively, and packed.
Reaching them can be a nightmare, especially on weekends, when the coast road, Poseidonos, turns into a kilometer-long traffic jam.
Most bars stay open until at least 3 a.m. M. Drinks are quite steep (around 6 EUR) but generous, and there is often a surcharge on weekend nights at the more popular clubs. Foreigners usually enter automatically; Large groups of single men can get into trouble on a busy night. Most clubs and bars do not accept credit cards for drinks.
From September to May, the beautiful people of Athens make an appearance at Central to see and be seen inside the cool and creamy interior while enjoying cocktails and sushi.
From May to September, Central is closed in the city; It reopens offshore as an island, which is dreamy decorated with sheer sheets and has direct views of the Aegean Sea.
