Indoor golf putting doesn’t have to be practice

I’ve been known as the anti-practice golf expert for some time. What does that really mean? Well, I’ll tell you in a nutshell that it means that I know that you can improve your game without having to go to the practice field. That really is. I teach people that most of what they should do to improve the game is in their heads. The funny thing is, they know … and yet they are still fighting the brainwashing that has been programmed into them over the years.

So what I really mean is … you can improve without traditional practice. That’s throwing your sticks in the car, driving to the field or field, and then getting a bucket to hit some balls.

For example, can you improve your game on the green with an indoor golf putt? Of course! The beauty of this is that because it’s convenient (it’s in your own living room), it really will. How many of us say things like “well, as soon as I finish that project at work, I’ll get in range and work on my game”?

And projects never end, right? Another shows up right after the last one and after a while, you stop making promises and just live with the lousy scores you’re getting used to.

It does not have to be this way!

Yes, indoor golf putting is not the same as playing on a real green, I grant you. But what can we gain by putting your rug at home? Much. Here are 3 great tips that if you start to focus, you will pay big dividends with a lower score. And you can make them right in your own home.

1. To start with, whenever possible, inject some pressure inside. Make up a game with a friend and bet a few dollars. You will train yourself on how to play under pressure. Whether or not you are on a carpet or grass, it doesn’t matter.

2. Take time to putt for fun (not practice) while fully concentrating on keeping your body still. You can and should do this while watching television. Pay attention to how you feel when you are still and only move your shoulders. This is valuable no matter what method you use. You always want minimal putt movement.

3. Get one of those tools that straightens a golf ball. Work solely on hitting the ball and rolling the ball so that the line stays straight as long as the ball rolls and doesn’t move. Folks, this is huge! If you can do this on your carpet, you can do it on a green. And when you do it for real, the ball goes exactly where you like it. Many people do not realize that they give the ball a side spin effect during the putt.

Are you starting to get an idea? Use this kind of idea at home, in your office, anywhere you can work on your game for just a couple of minutes, minimum. Think out of the box about how you can improve your golf. Many of us are so busy with our lives and jobs that coming down to rank never happens now, right?

But you can lower your scores anyway.
